Mata kuliah ini membahas materi tentang benih (generatif-vegetatif) dan sistem produksi benih, regulasi perbenihan, Industri benih, pengelolaan polen dan sumber benih (generatif-vegetatif), pengelolaan dan teknologi produksi benih tanaman pangan, hortikultura, dan tanaman perkebunan, teknologi presisi produksi benih bebas patogen, dan teknologi presisi produksi benih untuk buah seedless. This course discusses material on seeds (generative-vegetative) and seed production systems, seed regulations, seed industry, pollen management and seed sources (generative-vegetative), management and seed production technology for food crops, horticulture, and plantation crops, precision technology for pathogen-free seed production, and precision technology for seed production for seedless fruit. |
Ilmu Benih (ITB2601)/Seed Science

Mata kuliah Ilmu Benih membahas topik mengenai perkembangan ilmu benih baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri yang mencakup berbagai aspek antara lain: mutu benih, viabilitas dan vigor, dormansi, pembentukan dan perkembangan benih, produksi benih, sistem perbenihan, penanganan dan penyimpanan benih, pengujian benih termasuk peraturan Kepmentan, ISTA dan AOSA, kesehatan benih, peningkatan mutu benih, perlakuan benih, teknologi pelapisan benih, seed imaging technology, dan benih artifisial/sintetis. Hasil-hasil penelitian terkait juga dikemukakan untuk memberikan wawasan yang luas dalam pengembangan ilmu dan teknologi benih. The Seed Science course discusses topics regarding the development of seed science both domestically and internationally covering various aspects including: seed quality, viability and vigor, dormancy, seed formation and development, seed production, seed systems, seed handling and storage, seed testing including Ministry of Agriculture regulations, ISTA and AOSA, seed health, seed quality improvement, seed treatment, seed coating technology, seed imaging technology, and artificial/synthetic seeds. Related research results are also presented to provide broad insights into the development of seed science and technology. |
Fisiologi dan Biokimia Benih (ITB2602)/Physiology and Biochemistry of Seed

Mata kuliah ini menyajikan materi mengenai proses metabolisme seperti perubahan-perubahan fisiologi dan biokimiawi pada perkembangan dan perkecambahan benih, mekanisme kerja fitohormon dalam mengontrol perkecambahan baik pada benih dorman maupun non dorman; indikasi fisiologi dan biokimiawi untuk mendeteksi vigor benih dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi mutu benih; perilaku dan ciri perkembangan benih rekalsitran, berbagai faktor yang berperan dalam kemunduran/kematian benih rekalsitran dan mekanismenya; konsep, gejala dan mekanisme deteriorasi benih, peran peroksidasi lipid dan mikroorganisme dalam deteriorasi benih; prinsip fisiologis dan berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil invigorasi, berbagai teknik invigorasi termasuk biopriming dan biomatriconditioning. This course presents material on metabolic processes such as physiological and biochemical changes in seed development and germination, the mechanism of action of phytohormones in controlling germination in both dormant and non-dormant seeds; physiological and biochemical indications for detecting seed vigor and factors that influence seed quality; behavior and characteristics of recalcitrant seed development, various factors that play a role in the decline/death of recalcitrant seeds and their mechanisms; concepts, symptoms and mechanisms of seed deterioration, the role of lipid peroxidation and microorganisms in seed deterioration; physiological principles and various factors that influence invigoration results, various invigoration techniques including biopriming and biomatriconditioning. |
Analisis Mutu Benih (ITB2603)/Seed Quality Analysis

Kuliah ini menyajikan materi mengenai pentingnya analisis mutu benih dalam konteks benih bermutu; regulasi perbenihan, prinsip dan tujuan pengujian mutu benih; prinsip dasar pengambilan contoh benih; validasi metode, tolerance, pengembangan metode pengujian mutu benih; komponen analisis mutu benih; analisis mutu genetik (penggunaan marka genetik, kemurnian fisik, grow out test), mutu fisik , mutu fisiologis (viabilitas dan vigor benih melalui pendekatan fenomena pertumbuhan dan analisis biokimia), dan mutu patologis (kesehatan benih) berdasarkan International Rules for Seed Testing. This lecture presents material on the importance of seed quality analysis in the context of quality seeds; seed regulations, principles and objectives of seed quality testing; basic principles of seed sampling; method validation, tolerance, development of seed quality testing methods; components of seed quality analysis; genetic quality analysis (use of genetic markers, physical purity, grow out test), physical quality, physiological quality (seed viability and vigor through growth phenomenon approach and biochemical analysis), and pathological quality (seed health) based on the International Rules for Seed Testing. |

Mata Kuliah ini membahas materi tentang konsep penyimpanan benih (operasional, fisiologi dan ekologi), karakteristik benih ortodoks, rekalsitran dan intermediate; mekanisme fisiologis deteriorasi dan devigorasi benih, daya simpan dan pendugaan daya simpan benih, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi daya simpan benih, pengendalian faktor biotik dan abiotik untuk peingkatan daya simpan benih, teknologi penyimpanan benih ortodoks, rekalsitran, intermediate, kryopreservasi dan konservasi in situ plasmanutfah; pengembangan model penyimpanan benih. This course discusses the concept of seed storage (operational, physiological and ecological), characteristics of orthodox, recalcitrant and intermediate seeds; physiological mechanisms of seed deterioration and devigorization, storage capacity and estimation of seed storage capacity, factors affecting seed storage capacity, control of biotic and abiotic factors to increase seed storage capacity, orthodox, recalcitrant, intermediate seed storage technology, cryopreservation and in situ conservation of germplasm; development of seed storage models.

Produksi Benih Vegetatif (ITB2643)/ Vegetatively Seed Production

Mata kuliah ini berisi aspek produksi benih yang diperbanyak secara vegetatif (stek, okulasi, cangkok, anakan dll) meliputi tantangan dan strategi pengembangannya dari segi perencanaan dan evaluasi mutu, produksi benih secara massal, standarisasi dan analisis mutu produk, sistem distribusi dan penyimpanan, serta aspek teknis sosial ekonomi (aspek regulasi dan kebijakan). Komoditas yang dibahas yaitu tanaman buah, tanaman hias, tanaman obat-obatan, tanaman sayur dan tanaman pangan umbi. Kuliah juga berisi produksi benih berbiak vegetatif secara in vitro serta dijelaskan secara umum tentang embryo somatik untuk produksi benih artifisial. This course covers aspects of vegetatively propagated seed production (cuttings, grafting, budding, etc.) including challenges and development strategies in terms of planning and quality evaluation, mass seed production, product quality standardization and analysis, distribution and storage systems, as well as technical and socio-economic aspects (regulatory and policy aspects). The commodities discussed are fruit plants, ornamental plants, medicinal plants, vegetables and tuber food crops. The lecture also covers vegetatively propagated seed production in vitro and provides a general explanation of somatic embryos for artificial seed production. |
Biofisik Benih (ITB2644)/Biophysic of Seed

Kuliah ini menyajikan materi mengenai hubungan berbagai karakter fisik benih (bentuk, tekstur permukaan kulit benih, warna, ukuran, fluorescence dll.) akibat proses pengolahan benih (pengeringan, pembersihan, pemilahan, perlakuan) dengan viabilitas dan vigor benih. Berbagai alat pengolahan benih (dryer, Air Screen Cleaner, Blower Separator, Spiral Separator, Gravity Table Separator dll) akan disampaikan disertai dengan tingkat mutu yang dihasilkan. Pendekatan fisika seperti analisis chlorophyll fuorescence, gelombang mikro, Near Infra Red, sound absorbsion untuk pendugaan mutu benih secara non destruktif juga dibahas dalam mata kuliah ini. Pemanfaatan pendekatan fisika (Ultra Find Buble, Carbon Dot, sifat litrik, optik, akustik dll) untuk meningkatkan mutu benih juga dipelajari. Sebagai penutup akan didiskusikan strategi dan tantangan penelitian biofisik dan arah perkembangan biofisik dalam pengembangan ilmu dan teknologi benih. This lecture presents material on the relationship of various physical characteristics of seeds (shape, surface texture of seed coat, color, size, fluorescence, etc.) due to seed processing processes (drying, cleaning, sorting, treatment) with seed viability and vigor. Various seed processing tools (dryer, Air Screen Cleaner, Blower Separator, Spiral Separator, Gravity Table Separator, etc.) will be presented along with the resulting quality levels. Physics approaches such as chlorophyll fluorescence analysis, microwaves, Near Infra Red, sound absorption for non-destructive seed quality estimation are also discussed in this course. The use of physics approaches (Ultra Fine Bubble, Carbon Dot, electrical, optical, acoustic properties, etc.) to improve seed quality is also studied. In closing, the strategies and challenges of biophysical research and the direction of biophysical development in the development of seed science and technology will be discussed. |
